Attached is his first "vet" picture when
I first got him home - and the way he
looked when you last saw him.
Ghope you're well.
Damian
Here's the other
news - since I've been without a
home computer, I messed up Nacho's
birthday...it 8/28, not 7/28.
So, I'll have to
have the "celebration" again in a
month.
Not sure if I
sent you this picture of Nacho which
is more recent - from late winter
this year. It's one of his
favorite spots on the beach where he
likes to hang out during his walk.
PADDLES
Hi
Suzanne,
Here's an updated pic of Paddles.
Hope your 4th was great.
I was just looking at your
available kitties and see
that a few are coming here
to Florida. I assume
they will have to wait for
cooler weather, as it has
been really hot and rainy
here lately. Hard to
believe that 4 years ago I
was going through the same
thing.
Is it unusual to get so many
straight ears? I
wouldn't trade my folded
kittie for anything.
Paddles continues to be such
a dear. He's not too
playful all the time, but he
can get going. His
favorite thing lately has
been rattling our vertical
blinds covering our bedroom
slider around 6 am. If
that's the worst thing he
does, I won't complain.
Continued good luck with
your kitties.
Karen
ANGEL, WINSTON WITH
DANDY
I can't
believe
it is
almost
July.
That
means
Angel
has been
with us
for
almost a
year and
Winston
for
almost
six
months!
In so
many
ways it
seems
they
have
always
been
with
me.
Angel is
our
little
Princess;
she has
pink
bowls in
the
shape of
hearts
with
Princess
written
in the
bottom.
Of
course
she
thinks "why
bother
with
Princess,
I am
going
for
Queen!"
She is
really a
very
sweet
little
girl.
She
walks
like a
fashion
model,
poses
like one
too.
She has
the
cutest
little
trot,
sort of
saucy
and
bouncy.
She
never
really
enjoyed
playing
with
toys
until
Winston
taught
her
how.
Now
she'll
get in
the
games
and
compete
with the
boys.
She gets
run over
sometimes,
but she
takes it
in
stride
and
jumps
right
back
in.
Angel
does the
funniest
thing I
have
ever
seen a
cat do;
she sits
up on
her hind
legs
like a
Prairie
Dog. If
she
hears a
noise in
another
room, up
she
goes!
She
adjusts
those
tiny
little
folded
ears and
cocks
her head
and
listens
so
intently,
she
would be
a great
watch
cat!
As for
Winston,
he has
stolen
our
hearts!
His fur
is the
softest
thing I
have
ever
felt, it
is like
silk.
He purrs
with an
impressive
rumble,
but
meows
the
tiniest,
softest
and
cutest
meow.
Winston
is my
constant
companion.
He
“helps”
me do
everything.
Even
when I
do
laundry,
Winston
trots
right
along
with me
from the
upstairs
all the
way to
the
basement.
Sometimes
he will
even
"chat"
as we
go. I
always
figure
he is
telling
me I am
working
too hard
and I
should
take a
break
and get
the toys
out, you
know,
decompress.
When I
get
frustrated
or
stressed
he
always
reminds
me that
cats
lower
your
stress
level
and
blood
pressure,
To show
me how
he will
either
start
rubbing
his
cheeks
on my
legs or
jump in
my lap.
He has
even
jumped
on the
back of
a chair
and
balanced
there
until he
got my
attention!
Angel is
never
far from
me
either.
She is
just a
lot
quieter
about
things.
When I
am in
the
kitchen
she will
often
lie in
my chair
at the
table
and keep
me
company.
She
loves my
stuff,
she is
always
so happy
when I
leave my
clothes
on the
floor.
She will
roll on
them and
fall
asleep
curled
up in
them.
Winston
is
growing
very
fast; he
out grew
Angel a
few
months
ago.
She
weighs
about
eight
lbs;
Winston
hit
eleven
point
six
recently!
Now when
he
tackles
her he
can
cover
her like
a rug!
Angel
just
disappears
under
him it
is
hilarious.
They
play
together
so well,
they
race
around
here
like the
devil
was on
their
tails.
Their
antics
keep us
in
stitches.
Right
now
their
favorite
toy is a
string
on a
stick.
It is
one of
those
toys
where
you can
replace
the toy
part
with
different
things.
They
took off
with it
when I
was
replacing
the toy
one
day. So
I
started
to drag
just the
string
around
and they
had a
blast.
When I
put a
toy on
it they
didn't
like it
as well,
so I
took the
toy off
and they
are
happy
again.
CATS!
:-)
They are
both
such
sweet
and
happy
souls
and
bring us
endless
joy. I
feel so
blessed
to have
Angel
and
Winston
as part
of our
family.
I know
Dandy
our
twelve
year old
cat
loves
them
too, he
is also
very
happy
they are
here! I
am so
glad we
found
you.
Thank
you for
all the
help and
support
you give
us and
for the
time and
effort
you put
in to
each
kitten.
In our
home we
have the
living
proof of
how well
your
system
works
sweet,
happy,
healthy
and
wonderful
cats!
Kim and
Russ
Hi Suzanne,
I thought you
would like to
hear how Angel's
Vet visit went.
I took all the
cats to the
Vet's office
last Friday.
Russ had the day
off so he was
able to help me
carry everyone
in. I took
Winston just to
get a
micro-chip. In
the lobby before
I even got
checked in I saw
the Vet
Oncologist who
did Daffy's
radiation
treatment. She
loves to see my
babies. Dr.
Looper formed
such a deep bond
with Daffy and I
during his
treatment that
she feels like
an "Aunt" to my
cats. She raved
over Winston
(this is the
first time she
has seen him)
and commented on
how big he was
for his age!
She just loves
Angel, the first
time she saw
Angel was when I
took her to the
Vet right after
I got back from
picking her up
from you. She
accused me of
spreading
"kitten fever"
that day! ;-)
She says Angel
grew up just too
cute and
sweet for
her own good.
:-)
Every time I
take Angel to
the Vet's
everyone flips
over her and has
so many
questions. I
had to put her
carrier on the
lobby desk so
all the staff
could look her
over! I bought
a pretty pink
carrier that is
screened so that
people can look
but not touch.
:-) I got tired
of other people
visiting the Vet
sticking their
fingers in her
cage tying to
touch her
ears! I need
to get one for
Winston when I
see how big
he'll be full
sized, of course
it won't be
pink!
For now he is
using a larger
size carrier of
the same type
you sent him in.
When we got
settled in a
treatment room
the tech was so
excited she was
working that
day. She
remembers seeing
Angel from when
she was a tiny
kitten too.
When she took
Angel to weigh
her she hugged
her and smiled,
I wish I had
taken my
camera.
Angel's official
weight... 9.4
lbs. I took a
fecal sample and
it was
negative. Angel
got her Rabies
one year and
FVRCP. She also
got a
micro-chip.
The Vet we saw
this time had
not seen Angel
before, our
regular Vet was
not available
Friday. As Dr.
Priebe and the
tech gave Angel
her check-up
they kept
commenting on
all her
attributes!
They
were saying
things like
"look at those
adorable ears,"
"isn't her tail
thick and lush,"
"she has the
softest fur,"
and "she is so
sweet, she just
sits here so
good," I was
such a
proud
mama!! :-) Dr.
Priebe showed me
how to "brush"
Angel and
Winston's teeth
using gauze and
rubbing under
their lips. I
am going to try
and keep their
teeth clean.
They are not
having problems,
she just wants
me to do
preventative
care. She also
had me get
Micellar
solution to use
on Angel's ear
for
maintenance. I
keep an eye on
her ears and
remove any
excess wax. I
should not have
to worry about
cleaning them
too often, I
think it will be
a monthly
thing. Her ears
were in good
shape, only a
small amount of
wax in one ear
canal. :-) I
do my best!
Winston weighed
in at 12.7 lbs!
Since he only
got chipped he
did not get as
much attention,
but there was a
lot of comments
about his
gorgeous fur and
his size. :-)
We were all
joking and
guessing his
weight when he
is full grown.
I told them I
was going to
have to train
him to walk in
on a leash
because I am
beginning to
doubt I'll be
able to lift a
30 lb cat! ;-)
When I buy him a
new carrier I
hope to find one
with wheels!
:-)
Sadly not all
our news was
good. Poor
Dandy has lost
another pound.
I was pretty
sure he was
looking
thinner. I
struggle to get
him to eat and I
know it is a
matter of time
before I have to
say goodbye to
him. We are
trying a
combination
anti-biotic
treatment and he
may go on
Prednisone. We
are waiting to
see how he does
on the anti-biotics.
When he first
got sick they
did ultrasounds,
biopsies and
blood work.
After about six
months and three
or four rounds
of tests on poor
Dandy it was
suggested I take
him to an
Internal
Specialist. I
decided to call
and get another
opinion. My
regular Vet Dr.
Hemken (who had
been out of town
at the beginning
of Dandy's
problems so I
was seeing a
different Vet)
suggested we
check his
cobolamime
level. I have
been giving
Dandy his B-12
shots since.
Dr. Priebe
suggested doing
an endo-scope
and possibly
exploratory
surgery. She
explained it all
very well and if
I had been given
this option a
year and a half
ago I might have
tried it. But
now Dandy is 11
and has picked
up so many more
problems that I
don't think it
is fair to do
anything
invasive to
him. Besides
the pancreatitis
he likely has
inflammatory
bowel disease
and he has
chronic
sinusitis. We
found out from
his urinalysis
he may also be
developing
kidney disease.
He had very
dilute urine.
:-( I am trying
to make whatever
time he has
happy and
comfortable. As
you know my cats
are my #1
priority! Poor
Russ! ;-) You
know Russ
gets spoiled
too.
I hope I never
have a situation
where my cats
need those
micro-chips, but
better safe than
sorry. It was
mentioned that
if someone found
them I better
hope they were a
good Samaritan
and took them
somewhere to be
checked for the
chips! I guess
they felt like
my cats are so
sweet and cute
some people
would just keep
them. It is a
horrible
thought, yet it
is a compliment
as well. I know
Angel and
Winston are
irresistible!!
I hope you had a
nice trip and
got some well
deserved rest!
Take care!!
Kim
Hi Suzanne,
I will put
together
something and
put in the
subject line
"testimonial."
If I think of
any pictures
that would go
with a
particular story
I'll let you
know. :-) I
might send one
of Dandy licking
Angel's ears, I
think that would
be a good one to
show how easily
they blend into
existing
situations.
I have
considered
getting Winston
a lion cut, he
is perfect for
it. We have
hesitated
because we are
enjoying
watching the fur
grow with him!
I swear he gets
new layers to it
all the time.
His tail is
HUGE. I keep
trying to
remember to get
a picture with
his tail over a
tape measure, it
would be an eye
opener. ;-)
It will
be
interesting
to see how big
Winston ends up,
wow, four years
he has a long
way to go. He
may end up in
the record book
and he won't be
fat! I'll have
to get him a
carrier with
wheels! Russ
and I have joked
that he is
really a Maine
Coon in
disguise! I
love how he is
maturing, we
considered
naming him Leo,
that would have
been a good
fit. He is
going to be lion
sized. He is so
nice to hold and
hug, he is a
good cuddler
too, I think it
is just too warm
for him now. If
I get him shaved
he would
probably spend
more time
cuddling.
As for the
kittens, you may
be having a
bumper crop of
se's, but they
have been
gorgeous. I
love those
silver tabbies.
You have had
some really
great looking
Brits too. I
love cats, all
shapes and
sizes. Just
remember I am
not in a hurry.
I want one that
will fit in and
be like Winston,
a cuddler and
social. I know
you will
recognize the
perfect kitten
when it
arrives.
You saw
in Winston the
perfect
qualities and I
could not be
happier!
I love
my Angel too,
she is becoming
more open all
the time. I
just don't think
she will ever be
a cat I can hold
or pick up, at
least not for
any length of
time! She will
come to me
occasionally
when I am
sitting at the
kitchen table
and I can put
her in my lap.
She will
sometimes stay
and I can
scratch her
cheeks and ears
as well as along
her spine. She
really enjoys
it, but only for
a short time. I
am extremely
happy when she
graces me with
her presence!
:-)
Thanks again,
Kim
Hi Suzanne,
I was looking at
your Folds
website the
other day and
reading
testimonials, I
saw a couple of
emails I sent
you there. I
noticed you
didn't have any
recent pictures
with them. I
now realize you
could not add
any of the
recent pictures
I sent because I
did not send
them as jpg
files.
I have 24 of
my favorite
pictures of
Angel and
Winston for
you. I figure
you can decide
which ones would
work best for
the website.
I'll send them
in 4 batches, I
know 24 is a
lot!
I hope you
like these
pictures! I
want to show off
your beautiful
cats and how
well they fit
into our home.
:-) I sent
these emails to
myself first to
make sure I
attached the
pictures
correctly.
Also if
you would like
another update
to add with the
pictures let me
know and I'll
write something
up for you.
Kim
Hi Suzanne,
I am so glad you
think Angel is
so pretty, we do
too! I did not
realize the
breed standard,
I saw a show
called Cats 101,
and I think
Angel is
perfect. I
didn't know the
full cheeks were
a Scottish Fold
trait. I love
those cheeks!
She is such a
little lady,
very dainty and
sweet. She is
learning to
play, Winston
has really
helped her. She
never could seem
to get into
playtime before,
now she tackles
the feather toy
and takes off
running! It is
very cute. :-)
As for Winston
and the fur...
he has the most
amazing fur and
it keeps getting
fuller! His
tail seems to
grow in
proportion to
his size. It
gets fluffier
and rounder all
the time! When
he runs his fur
flounces like
the Fancy Feast
cat! It is so
cool. I saw a
breeder tip that
said to teach
long haired cats
to drink from a
small animal
water bottle. I
bought one the
other day, now
to figure out
how to mount it
somewhere and
teach all the
cats to use it!
I think that
would really
help Winston
with his ruff,
it gets wet and
then stuff
sticks to it.
He really does
try to keep it
clean. He is
past due for a
bath, finally it
is getting warm
here and that
should help, I
won't have to
worry as much
about him
getting cold.
I hope you have
a great day
too!
Kim :-)
Introducing Chloe and
Charlie Stein
Jun 30, 2009 by Barbara
I drove from Memphis on
Tuesday, June 30, to
Plainview, AR to pick up
Chloe, a kitten, for
Matt and Michaile. I
proceeded to fall in
love with Chloe's
brother, whom we have
named Charlie, and left
Plainview with not one,
but two kittens! We all
returned to Memphis
where we played with
Catherine and Connor
Saig....then drove home
to Panama City on
Wednesday. Matt and
Michaile arrived on
Thursday night to meet
Chloe and we had a fun
Fourth of July weekend
with the Weitekamps and
Dylan, Zach'...
FINN
Hi Suzanne,
We have named him Finn. He
is a "purrfect" little cat and I
think that can be attributed to the
wonderful socialization he received
in your care. He knows how to
make friends. He pushes a little,
but not too much so everybody likes
him, from our 12 yr old Lucky, the
Tuxedo cat to the new moma, Morgan,
and the dogs too, but they are easy.
Thanks again. Kathleen
Hi Suzanne:
He is a character
and so darn cute! He is
low to the ground and with the
long hair it's like a liitle
gray mop.
He is doing very well-no
sniffles or anything. I
have a funny cat story for you Remember how I adopted the
little female stray tortie last
month? Right when I got
her I had her checked for diease
and worms and pregnancy--all
clear. My son Chris and I
got back from the airport about
10PM Sunday night from picking
up the character (no name yet; I
am getting opposition on Nigel,
but i still like it).
Anyway, abour 2AM, Morgan the
adopted stray gave birth to a
single kitten--on the bed right
next to me!
Mother and baby are well, but
I certainly did not expect to
get 2 new kittens that night!
Kathleen
SHELBY
AND BRIT
Hey,
the first couple of days
Shelby was trying to
figure out when this
thing was leaving and
was kind of pissed at
Brit for invading her
space. Then Shelby
starting following Brit
around and just watching
her and tring to avoid
all contact with her and
as of last night they
started to chase each
other and a little
playing. So maybe the
hard part is over with
and they'll start being
friends. I'll continue
to send you updates from
time to time. I'll talk
to ya soon...
John "Goose" Bounds
just to let you know that the trip
went well, and her poo is all but damn.
Shelby is not too happy abount having
another personality in the house but she
is not rejecting as much now, she is
becoming content with the fact of
another cat in the house. Brit is just
an amazing looking cat, she is a better
looking cat than her photos now that I
get to see her run around am liking her
more and more. The only thing is I have
to get her from playing in the litter
box and Shelby from eating the kittin
food then all will be well. but all in
all I'm happy with her. thank you for
holding her for me and I'm not happy
that she turned out straight eared I'm
just happy that she is a perk eared and
healthy. Only the perk eared to my
advantage and the wellness to the both
of us. Thank you again and looking
forward to sending you some photos soon.
