Ahhhh!
CHARLIE
Suzanne, just a quick note to tell
you how much we love Charlie! He is
a lot of fun; he makes us laugh all
the time. He's getting really big,
but he's still a kitten at times. He
is not cuddly at all, but he likes
being around people and
is especially sweet when he wants us
to get up in the morning....which is
earlier now that the time has
changed!

One day last week a dog chased
him high up into a tree, but we got
up on a ladder and got him to jump
into a laundry basket, and we got
him down. He's a smart kitty and
trusts us.
We saw Chloe, his sister, in
Tampa a couple of weeks ago, when we
went to visit Matt and Michaile, and
she is doing well. She is smaller
than Charlie, and she is a sweet
girl, and she and Emmy are getting
along well and enjoying each other's
company. They have recently moved
into a new house and they are
adjusting well.
My only question is...with the
holidays coming...how are we going
to keep him out of the Christmas
tree?
Hope all is well there!

HARLEY AND STELLA
Hi
Suzanne,
Thanks for the follow up e-mail the
other day. The kittens (Harley &
Stella) are doing great and I think
that was further confirmed last
night from Stella. She decided to
sleep with us last night and I have
never heard a cat (or her
previously) purr as loud as she
did…..wow. Harley’s cold has gone
and I’ve handed the keys to the
house over to them since they are
now the rulers of our domain
J
Rachel has compiled some images for
you of the pair for your enjoyment
(I’ve noted some descriptive below)
IMG
0359: At first we thought it was the
couch but we quickly learned that
they really love the blanket to the
right of them. It should show up in
other images.
I
MG
0365: I think that image speaks for
itself
IMG
0372: Gas fireplace and our favorite
blanket. Life is tough
IMG
0376: Close up of Stella

IMG
0384: Believe it or not but Harley
was actually asleep in that
position.

IMG
0394: Full bellies and some TV with
Mom (Rachel).
IMG
0397: Ummmm….staged?!

So the little
girl is coming out of her shell
pretty quickly. I think her
brother's interactions have
encouraged her to do so. We'll
definitely make sure to give
them as much attention as
possible for the initial
transition period (not that I
really need to force my wife to
do that) :)
Only one little mishap and that
was what we assumed an initial
freak out pee on our bed (the
girl). Since then she has been
following her brother's lead and
using the kitty litter.
The boy loves getting under my
chin.
So the boy is
super friendly. The girl is a
little cautious but my wife
loves them. Is there anything we
should be wary of when getting
them used to the environment
over the next few days?
We have used our bedroom as
there safe room?
DAVINCI, SEBASTIAN AND
SYLVESTER

Boys are HUGE since I sent last set
of pictures to you!!!
Sylvester ONLY likes me when he
wants the boogies out of his nose &
eyes (and boy does he call me at the
top of his lungs when he wants this
done) – otherwise he still gives me
dirty looks - but lets me pet him
when he walks by close enough for me
to reach out and pet him – he might
be very slowly coming around!!!

Davinci listens the BEST when told
NO (like getting off the table when
we are eating) – unlike Sebastian
who stares at us and does it
anyway!!!
Davinci continues to pick on and
terrorize his 4 year older sister
Trouble – and I mean he hunts her
down and makes life miserable for
her – and ONLY her……..he really like
to pounce on her and pin her down in
corners and I can’t for the life of
me figure out why???
All
3 Boys LOVE spending lazy days out
on the screened back porch watching
Squirrels & Lizards and chasing
Black Ants!! They can spend the
Whole entire Day out there…….
Sebastian is my bed buddy – he
sleeps with me at the foot of the
bed all night long.
Davinci wakes me up EVERY morning at
3:30 or 4:00am – this is when he
wants and demands LOVE!!! He will
crawl under the covers with me and
tickle my body with his whiskers
while he is walking around under the
covers and if this does not wake me
up – he wraps his body around my
head on my pillow and sticks his
nose in my ear so his VERY LOUD
purring will wake me up!!!
Very Funny thing to see them ALL 3
line up while I am clean ing
the litter box to see who is going
to be the first one to christen it
the minute that I finish cleaning
it???? Where does this come from???
ALL
3 BOYS are scavengers – they LOVE
human food – we don’t try to give it
to them but if it falls on the floor
while we are cooking and we are NOT
fast enough to pick it up – there is
war war 3 between them to see who
gets it first – DAVINCI generally
wins this battle!!! For some weird
reason they also like Lexy’s Special
Hypo Allergenic Dog Food!!!

Well enough for now……., hope to have
an update for you again after
Christmas & New Years!!

MCTAVISH AND MAZY
Yes, we did, although
it was just the two of us. We get to see
our son and the grandchildren at
Christmas..jpg)
Progress, progress! We can approach
and/or pick up either cat now, but
neither will yet just come to us and
want petting. As you will see from the
photos, Mazy thinks Nick makes a nice
pillow - and this morning she spent
about an hour sleeping in my lap.
McTavish won't do
that. McTavish is an independent little
rascal, but has yet to offer teeth to
us. Mazy will chew - not in anger - just
playing. Everyone who sees them falls in
love with them.
.jpg)
In one of the photos, you'll notice
McTavish has discovered the birds and
the squirrel! It must be deep in the
genetic nature -.jpg)
he quivered all over at his first sight of them and could I have heard it,
he was probably also chattering!
.jpg)
Mazy's other habit impacts McTavish more
than us! Several times a day when they
are resting, she will cuddle up to him
or on top of him and knead away while
her mouth is fixed on his neck for 15
minutes or more at a time. Most of the
time he just tolerates her, but once in
a while he rears up and says "Enough!!"
Should this be of any concern?
I could chatter on about them for a long
time, but will attach the photos so you
can see how they look now. Last Thursday
Mazy weighed
2.6 and McTavish was 4 lbs even. I doubt
that Mazy will ever weigh more than 5
lbs, but with the way McTavish eats,
he'll probably hit 10!! I think on the
registration papers Mazy's second name
choice should be Purrfectfolds Miss
Little Bit!
Best regards!
Joan
Yes, afraid so far our
day revolves around them!!
>Glad the jealousy card is
>working, stubborn
>little girl. Are you giving her the
syringes of meds??
Well, this morning we seem to have lost
all the ground we've gained. What must
they talk about during the night that
makes them so skittish the next
morning!! We allowed them out of the
room for the first time yesterday. Of
course, ightail was the first out and
nosed around for several minutes. Nick
wound up carrying Mazy out to where
McTavish was. Whole thing lasted only
about 10 minutes before both scurried
back into "their" room.
About how much wet food should they be
getting per day? I realized I'd run out
of the Friskies last night and opened a
can we had gotten from PetCo - one of
the organic chicken things. It seems
easier for Mazy to eat - McTavish will
eat ANYTHING and then try to polish off
her's.
.jpg)
Doesn't seem like a whole week since we
picked them up. They are adorable to
watch!!
Since we are going to be boarding them
over Christmas, we are taking them out
tomorrow to be introduced to the vet
where they will stay. Even though it is
so far away, I think we're going to use
the vet the Snyders are so crazy about.
The two pics this time, I call "climb
every mountain"!!! Nick didn't
appreciate my humor!!!
You can see from the pics that
McTavish's eye is not completely cured
yet, but this morning it looks even
better - although I'm puzzled over the
lethargy.
Hope your week has been as fun as ours!!
not the sweet angels that you
>had at home!
These were sweet angels at home!!???
McTavish, maybe, but Mazy is a wild
child and instigates most of the
roughhousing!!
.jpg)
But I've won Mazy's heart!! With
bribery, jealousy, and a sock-covered
wiggling toe!! I can put my hands on her
about 6 out of every 10 times I try, and
she no longer struggles to get away if I
pet her. But neither one likes to be
picked up. I was hoping for at least one
lap cap, but it's early days yet.
They greet us as we come out of our
bedroom now - I know it's cupboard love
- but they will condescend to butt and
twine for a few minutes before demanding
their breakfast.
.jpg)
McTavish loves anything he can put in
his mouth - but after the first one,
Mazy refused to eat the GlycoFlex, so I
have to crush it in a teaspoon of food
to get it down her.
It probably would work better if I did
separate them, but I can't bear to do
it! They depend on each other for warmth
at night, trying to one-up each other,
and for "killing!"
.jpg)
I've never been "Halloweened" in my hall
before. I know you shouldn't laugh at
them, but it sure is hard not to!! Their
antics in a paper bag are hilarious, but
my camera is not fast enough to catch
action shots. But I'm sending the latest
ones.
Hope your Thanksgiving was a happy one!
Joan
>how has the weekend gone with the
youngsters??
So far, pretty well. It's very
interesting to see some of their
personality traits and how different
they are. I'm sending three pics. The
one of them under the table was made
Thursday night after we got home. The
one of Mazy alone was made Saturday
morning. She was the first one "off the
floor." The second one of both shows the
progress they've made in finding high
places in the room. As you can see, they
don't like the flash..jpg)
We can play the jealously card with them
now. If we're petting McTavish, here
comes Mazy and tries to push him aside
to get her share. She usually flops over
on her side and starts kneading whatever
she can reach. She does NOT like to be
picked up. Most of the time she uses
McTavish to knead and keeps it up for
many minutes at a time. Sometimes he
purrs about it and sometimes it looks
like he's trying to kill her. But when
he stalks off, here she comes and
tackles him, so I guess they're really
not hurting each other. But they sure do
rough and tumble a lot!! We've never had
two kittens at once - and it's been 24
years since we even had one kitten to
raise.
They both are .jpg)
eating well, in fact, as I said,
McTavish eats like a hound dog! We have
to watch him, or he inhales his and
pushes her away and eats the rest of her
wet food.
The big cage we had came with a gray
fur-type pad which we had left at home
in what was to be their room. Also, one
of the round small cat beds that had a
velvet-type bottom in it. Neither would
touch either!! So, tonight we put towels
down in the bottom of both. You'd think
we had given them the moon and stars!
What a tumbling and stretching bout and
the last time I looked in they both were
asleep on the larger mat.
.jpg)
Today we gave them a larger, covered
litter box that had been our 20-year-old
cat's. We kept it because we had spent
so much money for it. It is big and has
a translucent cover for it. McTavish was
the first to hit it and acted as though
he was digging for moles, turning about
so excitedly. And I thought, uh oh, they
think this is a new toy box and will
start using the room corner somewhere,
but he finally got down to business and
then came out. Mazy went in very
timidly, dug a tiny hole, did her
business and got out again. In shot
McTavish with a dirty look at her and
covered what she failed to cover!
As you can see, I can rant on about them
for "pages and pages." But I do believe
we are making some progress. Ray Snyder
called this afternoon to see if we had
brought them home yet - and they are
coming to see them Sunday. I had thought
we'd have six of your cats in our area,
but I see the darling little gray one
that was coming to Madison is up for
sale again.
I've rambled along enough for one
night!! Thank you so much for asking
about them!
FIONA AND SKYE
Hi Suzanne.
I hope this message finds you happy and
in good health.
I attached a couple of photos of Fiona
and Skye. For perspective, the photos
of Skye on the windowsill and the one of
Fiona in the laundry basket were taken
on 8/29. The other photos we're taken
on 10/6.

I haven't had the opportunity to take
any photos of Rufina as I keep
forgetting my camera when I visit my
mother-in-law. I can tell you, though,
there's almost no kitten left as she
appears all cat these days!
So, they are growing like weeds and that
has raised a question for us.
Fiona is about 6 lbs
right now and very lean while Skye is
about 8 lbs and still has a belly. They
both have the same availability to food
(kitten formula food) and, actually,
Fiona is the heavier eater.
So, Q1 is any issue with either of their
weight right now?
The other question is
behavior/nutritional in origin. Skye
basically wants nothing to do with any
food other than her cat food (although
she will occasionally track down my wife
if she's eating a yogurt). Fiona, on
the other hand, is like every dog I've
ever had. If anything looks like it
might possibly be edible, she's on it.
The other night, she grabbed a piece of
asparagus off Paola's plate and ate it.
So, Q2 is do I need to worry about a
kitten that is a "foodie".
Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!
Tom

MS ROXY AND DIRK
Suzanne
thought you might like to see Ms
Roxy at six months old and Dirk
